My eldest son who is 14 years of age is a talented cricketer but was struggling to perform when playing despite looking really good in the cricket nets. After working with Peter, my son was mentally ready and in his first game which was a traditional three day game he scored a well deserved half century as an opening batsman against a very tough attack. We were approached by Peter to participate in the Mental Toughness Program after Peter recognised that our son was struggling with the mental side of his hockey game. Our son possesses great physical hockey skills but his lack of mental coping skills, especially in high pressure games, was affecting his performance. He was anxious and lacking in confidence both prior to high pressure games and during the games, resulting in a drop in his usual standard of performance.
